Most of the Europeans carry cards while on holiday due to convenience

Mon, Jun 24, 2013: According to MasterCard’s recent research, 91 per cent of Europeans prefer having their cards on hand during holiday while 60 per cent prefer having the cards at home. Half of the respondents (53%) say they will prefer to pay more by card when on vacation and the main reasons make them to swipe card are:

• convenience (65%);
• fear of cash being stolen (41%);
• security (38%);
• not having cash on hand (37%)
• speed (34%); and
• better tracking of expenses (30%).
