U.S. (July 17, 2013): MoneyGram yesterday announced a new agreement with the DeviceFidelity to become its exclusive money transfer provider for moneto, mobile financial service offered by DeviceFidelity.
Under the partnership, moneto users able to send money using a iPhone or Android smartphone to send money to any of MoneyGram’s more than 321,000 locations in 198 countries.
To use the new service, consumers simply sign up for a moneto account by downloading the free moneto mobile app from the iPhone App Store or Android’s Google Play. Once registered, users receive a moneto prepaid MasterCard card in the mail, and then have access to the moneto app’s award-winning features. An upgrade to enable mobile payments at retail stores using your favorite phone is also available through DeviceFidelity’s pluggable NFC solutions.
Once a moneto account is active, sending a money transfer through MoneyGram is quick and easy, by simply clicking “send money” on the account home screen. The app guides the user through the process, and once complete a secure money transfer is typically available anywhere in the world in as few as 10 minutes.
