Mobile Penetration Rate Hits Over 130% in Thailand

Aug 23, 2013 (Fri): True Mobile Group’s Real Future has formed a strategic partnership with Ericsson to improve the mobile broadband experiences based on HSPA and LTE technologies for its 21.5 million subscribers in Thailand. This partnership also part of the company’s effort in preparing for the growing number of smartphone users in the country.

According to a recent local government’s statistic, the country reached a mobile penetration rate of more than 130 per cent and Ericsson ConsumerLab studies have also shown that smartphone penetration in urban Thailand grew more than two-fold from 17 percent in 2012 to 36 percent in 2013.
