MALAYSIA, 4 JULY 2025 – Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has made a major breakthrough in regional digital cooperation by unlocking over RM450 million in digital export opportunities through its latest initiative, DEX CONNEX Indonesia. The programme successfully facilitated the entry of 83 Malaysian tech companies into the Indonesian market, reinforcing Malaysia’s leadership in the ASEAN digital economy.

The initiative also resulted in the exchange of 26 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Malaysian and Indonesian firms, spanning high-impact sectors such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, digital platforms, food and beverage tech, and talent development.
“Indonesia is a vital partner in Malaysia’s digital ambitions,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of MDEC. “Through DEX CONNEX, we are not only driving export growth but building a resilient digital bridge that connects two of ASEAN’s most dynamic tech ecosystems.”
The event, held in Jakarta, was supported by a strong coalition of public and private stakeholders, including the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, MITI Malaysia, MATRADE Jakarta, and KOMDIGI Indonesia. It was attended by dignitaries including H.E. The programme is known for strategically positioning Malaysian tech companies for international success.
Anuar emphasized that the spirit of ASEAN unity underpins this success, stating: “Together, Malaysia and Indonesia are cultivating a future where digital growth is inclusive, sustainable, and benefits all layers of society.”
