Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) have joined forces to enhance digital talent and financial literacy among Malaysian youth through the Next Gen TeenXChange program. This strategic initiative aims to prepare future leaders for the demands of the digital economy.
MALAYSIA, 28 JULY 2025 – Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to boost digital talent development and entrepreneurship among youth across Malaysia.
The collaboration marks the launch of the Next Gen TeenXChange program, a continuation of the long-standing Digital Ninja initiative introduced in 2016. As a flagship component of MDEC’s MyDigitalMaker movement, the program is tailored for students aged 15 to 20 who exhibit high potential in digital technology and leadership.
“This is more than a talent development program—it is a strategic investment in Malaysia’s future,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC. “With Malaysia’s digital economy projected to contribute 25.5% to GDP by 2025, nurturing digital talent is no longer optional, but a national priority. Through this initiative, we’re equipping the next generation with future-ready skills and empowering them to drive an inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive digital economy.”
Echoing this sentiment, Jay Khairil, Chief Executive of BSN, emphasized BSN’s continued commitment to youth empowerment through education and financial literacy.

“This collaboration reflects our dedication to building a digitally and financially literate society. By supporting digital talent development, we are not only investing in the nation’s future but also strengthening the foundation of a more resilient generation,” he said.
Through this strategic partnership, the Next Gen TeenXChange program will broaden its reach, targeting students from diverse backgrounds. Participants will gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, build essential digital and soft skills, and receive financial literacy training—positioning them to become competitive digital leaders who can actively contribute to Malaysia’s digital transformation.
To date, the program has successfully trained more than 675 students, including 250 female participants, many of whom are now actively involved in innovation at university and industry levels.
The MoU signing ceremony was represented by Mr. Suzaini bin Mukhtar, Head of Deposits, Payments, and Financial Inclusion, BSN, and Ts. Nik Naharudin bin Mohd Nasir, Director of Digital Talent and Entrepreneurship, MDEC. It was witnessed by Mr. Mujibburrahman Abd Rashid, Deputy Chief Executive of BSN, and Ir.
