SPAIN: In collaboration with Prime Research, MasterCard conducted a study to track 85,000 related social media comments about mobile payment around the world and the study found mobile payment technology was discussed among 58 per cent of Early Adopters and 76 per cent of those yet to adopt the technology.
This Mobile Payments Social Media Study also reveals that users based in Europe are the most concerning about the technology, followed closely by Asia-Pacific and the United States. For Asia-Pacific region, China, Thailand, Australia, Japan and Singapore are the most active countries in mobile payment discussions. The report also found inconsistency in acceptance, market-wide availability, cost and safety are the key barriers among the users to stop them adopting mobile payment.
