Malaysia Unveils MDX Summit 2025 to Drive Trillion-Dollar Digital Economy

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) launched the MDX Summit 2025, themed “Catalysing Malaysia’s Trillion-Dollar Digital Future,” bringing global leaders and innovators together to accelerate digital transformation. Running alongside SmartGOV Malaysia 2025, the event highlights the nation’s ambition to position itself as ASEAN’s premier digital hub.


MALAYSIA, 17 SEPTEMBER 2025 – Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), in partnership with Synapze Sdn Bhd, officially launched the Malaysia Digital Xceleration (MDX) Summit 2025 today, officiated by Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh Deo.

Now in its third year, the summit runs from 17 to 19 September at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre under the theme “Catalysing Malaysia’s Trillion-Dollar Digital Future.” The event aims to accelerate Malaysia’s target of achieving a 30% digital economy contribution to GDP by 2030, while showcasing the latest advancements in emerging technologies, digital transformation, and innovation.

Over 5,000 participants, including entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders, and policymakers, are expected to attend. Keynote speakers include Dr. Keyu Jin from the London School of Economics and technology investor Nicklas Bergman, alongside Malaysian leaders and innovators. Their discussions will spotlight ASEAN’s USD 1 trillion digital economy potential by 2030 and Malaysia’s leadership role in shaping regional growth.

The summit focuses on five Next-Gen areas: Data, Computing, Trust, Creativity, and Talent. It features conferences, immersive exhibitions, networking sessions, and policy roundtables designed to foster collaborations and strategic investments.

Running in parallel is the inaugural SmartGOV Malaysia 2025, in collaboration with the National Digital Department (JDN). This platform highlights the government’s adoption of AI-powered public services, digital permits, and smart city planning to improve efficiency and citizen experiences.

“MDX Summit 2025 is more than just a showcase of technology, it is a platform for action. By connecting global innovators, local talent, investors, and policymakers, we are building the partnerships that will drive Malaysia’s digital economy forward,” said MDEC Chief Executive Officer, Anuar Fariz Fadzil.

The event also saw the announcement of recipients of the Malaysia Digital Acceleration Grant – Artificial Intelligence (MDAG-AI), a funding initiative supporting local companies in scaling AI-driven solutions with high commercial potential. The grant covers up to 70% of project costs, capped at RM2 million per project.

Among the recipients are Elliance Sdn Bhd, AAE Solution Sdn Bhd, Ventionex Innovations Sdn Bhd, SmartPeep Sdn Bhd, Hexa IOT Sdn Bhd, Vulsan X Cydef Sdn Bhd, Jess Technology Sdn Bhd, Cuscapi Innovation Lab Sdn Bhd, Cargo4u Sdn Bhd, Macro Kiosk Berhad, Health4u Solutions Sdn Bhd, Caction Sdn Bhd, and Clazzy Sdn Bhd.

With strong backing from sponsors including Yayasan Peneraju, MDX Summit 2025 reinforces Malaysia’s position as ASEAN’s trusted digital hub, showcasing its digital ecosystem, talent, and infrastructure to attract world-class collaboration and investment.
