12 March 2024 – In a significant boost for Sabah’s entrepreneurial landscape, the recent Kinabalu Startup Bootcamp marked a milestone for tech startups in the state. Organized by the Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre (SCENIC) in collaboration with MYStartup, the Bootcamp provided a valuable platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to refine their ideas and gain the skills needed for success.
Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), a federal agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), played a key role by supporting the Bootcamp and offering financial aid through various initiatives. This collaboration reflects the combined efforts of federal and state governments to cultivate a thriving startup ecosystem in Sabah.
The Bootcamp offered a comprehensive program, featuring workshops, pitching sessions, and networking opportunities. Participants delved into crucial topics like market dynamics, competitive differentiation, and navigating the Malaysian startup landscape. They also received guidance on team management, crafting compelling presentations, and securing funding.
The Bootcamp culminated in the recognition of three outstanding startups: Rare is Real (integrated culture system), Reviewbah (review platform), and AgroDaya (social marketplace for farmers). Each winner received a cash prize to further propel their ventures.
