After two months of regional heats, the JAZRO Cup 2025 crowned its national champions in Cyberjaya, highlighting how rural and urban students can compete equally in STEM. The competition involved 1,200 students from 143 schools, proving Malaysia’s growing tech talent pool is diverse and inclusive.
MALAYSIA, 20 AUGUST 2025 – The JAZRO Cup 2025 has concluded its inaugural national finals at Rekascape, Cyberjaya, bringing together 319 students from over 70 schools nationwide after two months of rigorous regional rounds. The competition, organized by JAZRO Robotic Academy, attracted a total of 1,200 participants from 143 schools — including 87 rural schools representing 61.5% of total participation — reinforcing its mission to bridge the urban–rural gap in STEM education.
The event featured both coding and no-code categories, with teams from Sabah, Sarawak, and every major region of Peninsular Malaysia showcasing creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The strong presence of rural schools demonstrated that equal access to STEM opportunities can nurture innovation and talent regardless of background.
“The JAZRO Cup is not just a competition; it is a platform of equal opportunity,” said Ir. Dzulfarqeish Zainuddin, CEO of JAZRO. “When rural and urban students are on the same stage, competing with passion and creativity, we are building Malaysia’s future innovation ecosystem.”
Among the top honors, the Coding Genius Award went to SM Islam Hira’ & Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Hira’ of Kuala Selangor, a rural school team recognized for their exceptional programming skills and problem-solving mastery. Meanwhile, the Gobi Innovator Award was presented to SMK Seksyen 5 Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, for demonstrating both technical excellence and a deep understanding of robotic logic. Each award carried a RM500 cash prize.
Additional accolades included top prizes across various categories — Roboblitz, Blazebot, Robot Combat, Byte Droid, Storm Code, and Game of Drone Mission — further cementing the event’s role as a national platform for young tech talent.
Supported by the Ministry of Education and partners such as Muslim Pro/Bitsmedia, Spritzer, MyDigital, Petrosains, and Yayasan MR DIY, the JAZRO Cup has set a benchmark for inspiring Malaysia’s next generation of robotics and technology leaders.
