The threat of cyber-attacks on personal information as well as corporate and government information has become a major problem throughout the world in the recent years. Besides law enforcement at the national and international level, combating cyber-crimes require forward-thinking technological partner. Therefore, INTERPOL has signed a partnership agreement with NEC Corporation (NEC) to strengthen their global fight against cyber-crime by developing core elements of the Digital Crime Centre of INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation which will open in Singapore in 2014.
Under the three-year agreement, NEC will provide technical and human resources to establish a Digital Forensic Lab and Cyber-Fusion Centre within the centre. Digital Forensic Lab focuses on identifying and test-bedding digital forensic technology and methodologies to help investigators better coordinate and conduct digital crime investigations, while Cyber-Fusion Centre provides a platform for law enforcement to collaborate with the Internet security industry to effectively combat digital crime.
