Thu, Jul 4, 2013: Indonesia’s mobile service providers XL Axiata has deployed Amdocs Mobile Payments solution to enable its 49.1 million subscribers to buy digital goods like apps, games, music and ebooks at the Windows Phone Store using their XL mobile account. This partnership has made XL Axiata to be the first service provider in Asia Pacific region to offer the improved payment experience of direct carrier billing at Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store to its subscribers.
According to XL Axiata, more than 80 per cent of the Indonesian population does not have a bank account or credit card but almost all have a mobile phone. The new launched service by XL Axiata can encourage mobile subscribers in Indonesia to participate in the booming digital economy.
