INDONESIA: The Indonesian government will implement a new regulation to protect local e-commerce industry within this year, the Jakarta Globe reported. The local government found most of the frauds came from .COM websites and thus want to restrict local e-commerce website to use local domain names or .CO.ID only. The value of e-commerce transactions in Indonesia in 2012 was reported around RM38.35 billion (IDR120 trillion) from RM20.14 billion (IDR63 trillion) in 2011. In 2012, most of the online transactions (55%) came from home computers, followed by mobile web browsers (43%) and mobile applications (2%).
