ICT Services and eCommerce Will Contribute 17% of GDP

Nov 15, 2013 (Fri): The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said that the government expects ICT services and eCommerce to be the largest contributors to the Malaysia Digital Economy and it will contribute 17 per cent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), Bernama reports.

He said Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (MDeC) is helping 25,000 SMEs to grow their exports by tapping into global demand in e-marketplaces through the eTrade project under Digital Malaysia.
