9 October 2024 – Food Bayana, a cutting-edge food hub located in Bayan Lepas, has announced a transformative partnership with Pudu Robotics and Pentamaster Corporation Berhad, aimed at revolutionizing its operations through advanced automation. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Food Bayana’s digital transformation, seamlessly blending innovative technology with a diverse array of culinary delights to deliver an unparalleled dining experience.
As the first fully automated food hub in Malaysia, Food Bayana has redefined the dining landscape by bringing together 31 of Penang’s top hawkers within a spacious two-story facility spanning over 2,000 square meters. At the heart of this initiative are Pudu Robotics’ FlashBots, which enhance delivery efficiency and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Pentamaster Corporation Berhad played a crucial role in deploying the FlashBots at Food Bayana. Leveraging its expertise in automation, the company collaborated closely with Pudu Robotics to design and implement a tailored system that meets the unique needs of this premier food plaza. This partnership has resulted in reduced labor costs, minimized human contact, and ensured that customers receive hot, fresh meals in response to the fast-paced demands of Penang’s industrial district.

The food hub operates 30 FlashBot delivery robots equipped with real-time order tracking, efficient navigation, and advanced 3D obstacle avoidance capabilities. Food Bayana’s two floors are organized into specific delivery zones, allowing the FlashBots to quickly transport meals to designated pick-up areas. This streamlined approach not only accelerates service but also minimizes human interaction, ensuring meals are kept hot and fresh.
Customers can place their orders at food stalls on the first floor and receive real-time notifications via their smartphones as their orders progress. The FlashBots carry meals from the first floor to designated pick-up zones on the second floor, where customers collect their orders from warming cabinets, reducing the need for direct human involvement.
