The recent Nielsen research report on the influence of digital media on shopping habits reveals Filipinos are among the most active in the Asia-Pacific region in using Internet for product research, reading consumer reviews, and searching for online deals.
However, the result of the research shows the online purchase still low in Philippines, only 34 per cent have made purchases online in the past month compared to 62 per cent in the Asia-Pacific and 49 per cent globally.
The research also shows within the next three to six months, half of the Filipino respondents (or 52%) commented will purchase a computer, game or software, 46 per cent of them will buy mobile phone online and 32 per cent intend to buy food and beverages online.
