Equinix has reached the topping-out milestone for its second Johor data center, JH2, backed by a US$201 million investment and slated for completion in Q3 2027. The facility will expand Malaysia’s position as a key digital hub within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
MALAYSIA, 13 NOVEMBER 2025 – Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s leading digital infrastructure company, has announced the topping out of its second International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in Johor, known as JH2. This milestone marks significant progress in Equinix’s expansion plans in Malaysia, reinforcing the nation’s standing as a fast-emerging digital hub in Southeast Asia.
With an initial investment of US$201 million, JH2 is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2027 and will feature 2,225 cabinets upon launch. The new facility will cater to the rising demand for digital infrastructure, cloud services, and interconnection in Malaysia’s growing economy.
Strategically located in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), JH2 will enhance connectivity between Malaysia, Singapore, and other major global markets. The data center will serve as part of Equinix’s wider interconnection ecosystem, offering Malaysian and international enterprises direct access to some of the world’s most dynamic digital markets.
