DobiQueen’s new “Single Parent Welfare Support” program and expanding network of launderettes are reshaping convenience in Malaysia, offering essential support to single parents while helping customers reclaim valuable time for personal and professional growth.

MALAYSIA, 17 DECEMBER 2025 – DobiQueen, a trailblazer in Malaysia’s laundry service industry, is making significant strides in empowering single parents and redefining everyday convenience. As the nation works toward increasing female Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) to 60% by 2033, the company is stepping up with initiatives like the “Single Parent Welfare Support” program, aimed at improving the lives of single parents. This program rewards high-performing single-parent employees with monthly incentives of up to RM500, reinforcing dobiQueen’s commitment to gender equality and long-term support for families.

Nini Tan, Co-founder and Executive Director of dobiQueen, expressed that empowering women and strengthening families are core to the company’s mission. “Our Single Parent Welfare Support programme reflects our commitment to helping them build stability, confidence, and long-term success,” she said. The program is part of the company’s broader goal of driving social and economic inclusion while fostering a supportive community for women, especially those from underserved sectors such as single mothers and members of the B40 community.

DobiQueen also stands out for its strategic collaborations with NGOs like Dignity for Children Foundation and Komuniti Tukang Jahit (KTJ), supporting women in the B40 group, single mothers, and refugee mothers. These partnerships help individuals develop skills, gain income, and contribute to their communities, fostering broader social change.

The company’s impact extends beyond just employment. A recent survey reveals that an increasing number of Malaysians, including families, working individuals, and students, are turning to professional launderette services to reclaim their time. By outsourcing laundry tasks, customers save between 150 and 300 hours annually—equivalent to 6 hours per week—providing them with more flexibility and reducing daily stress. Data from over 15 million washes highlights that customers reinvest their freed-up time in meaningful activities like bonding with children (41%), dining out and socializing (32%), business management (19%), and self-care (8%).

DobiQueen is also focusing on innovation. The company’s mobile app makes laundry more accessible and convenient, enabling customers to locate nearby outlets, start machines with QR codes, and skip in-outlet kiosks or tokens. This forward-thinking approach is designed to meet local preferences while benchmarking against global leaders in the laundry industry, such as those in Japan and Korea.

Looking ahead, dobiQueen plans to expand its presence in Malaysia, with plans to add 20 outlets annually and extend its reach into Sabah and Sarawak. The company is also well-positioned in a growing laundry service market, expected to reach a value of US$273.0 billion by 2032.

DobiQueen’s ongoing efforts to empower women, particularly single parents, while providing essential services that ease daily life highlight the company’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive society.
