DA Launches First Advanced Implant Strategies Centre of Excellence in Penang, Setting a New Standard for Dental Care in Asia

Dontia Alliance Pte. Ltd. has launched its first Advanced Implant Strategies Centre of Excellence in Penang, Malaysia, in collaboration with SmileBay Dental, marking the beginning of a planned network of premier dental implant centres across Asia. This initiative aims to enhance clinical excellence, patient care, and accessibility to implant treatments throughout the region.

10 June 2024 – Dontia Alliance Pte. Ltd. (“DA”) has taken a significant step in enhancing the dental healthcare landscape in Asia with the launch of its first Advanced Implant Strategies Centre of Excellence (“AIS Centre”) in Penang. This landmark initiative aims to establish a robust network of AIS Centres across Asia, significantly bolstering DA’s expanding dental ecosystem.

The launch event, held in collaboration with SmileBay Dental Sdn. Bhd. (“SmileBay”), a prominent dental group with eight clinics across Malaysia, marked the inauguration of SmileBay Signature Advanced Implant Centre (“SmileBay AIC”) as the first AIS Centre. SmileBay AIC is now the largest full-service implant centre in the region, featuring a state-of-the-art laboratory and training facility alongside its clinical services.

The AIS Centre designation, a novel concept introduced by DA, is awarded to premier implant centres that demonstrate unwavering commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centric care. These centres utilize advanced techniques and technologies, ensuring the highest standards in dental implantology. The AIS Centre branding assures patients that their implant treatments and maintenance are performed with exceptional care and expertise.

DA’s ambitious plan includes the establishment of four additional AIS Centres in Singapore, Hong Kong (SAR), Vietnam, and the Philippines over the next two years. These centres will consolidate resources and expertise, optimizing individual practices within the network. Dental professionals associated with AIS Centres will benefit from extensive educational courses, networking events, and mentorship programs offered through the AIS initiative.

With Asia’s aging population and the increasing prevalence of edentulous patients, the need for accessible and convenient implant care has never been more critical. AIS Centres provide comprehensive implant solutions in major cities, significantly improving patients’ quality of life. Reliable implant repair services are crucial for extending the lifespan of implants, which are becoming an increasingly popular option for tooth loss replacement.

In line with the launch of the first AIS Centre, DA announced its corporate social responsibility initiatives, partnering with dental implant manufacturers to offer implant treatments to the underprivileged. This initiative underscores DA’s commitment to making dental care equitably accessible.

Dr. Wong Keng Mun, founder of DA, highlighted the importance of accessibility, stating, “We are committed to establishing implant repair and service centres in Asia’s major cities, ensuring that patients can conveniently access necessary care and maintenance for their implants. By consolidating resources and expertise, our AIS Centres deliver cost-effective, quality implant solutions.”

Dr. James Chow, co-founder of DA, emphasized the educational aspect of AIS Centres, saying, “Our AIS Centres serve as educational hubs for dentists, providing training and updates on new dental materials, technologies, and techniques. They foster a community of learning and continuous improvement.”

Dr. Yong Peng San, founder of SmileBay, expressed pride in the recognition, saying, “Being selected as the first AIS Centre in Asia is a great honor for SmileBay AIC. This recognition will enhance the growth of SmileBay AIC and establish Penang as a preferred destination for holistic dental care.”

The launch of the AIS Centre in Penang signifies a major advancement in dental implantology across Asia, reinforcing DA’s dedication to excellence, accessibility, and continuous improvement in dental healthcare.
