The recent Kaspersky Bulletin 2012 has published that cyber-criminals switched their primary target to Oracle Java in 2012, exploiting this software to install malware on victims’ computers. The malicious program that try to infect a computer utilizing various vulnerabilities in popular software are the main tool behind web-based attacks.
The most frequent exploited software last year was Adobe Reader but was ranked second this year followed by Adobe Flash Player. Cyber-criminals exploit applications or software that have un-patched security vulnerabilities, which exist because either the individual or businesses have failed to patch their vulnerable applications with the latest security updates from vendors.
