CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 Launches in Kuala Lumpur, Champions Digital Future for Malaysian SMEs

The CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 kicked off in Kuala Lumpur with nearly 1,000 attendees, spotlighting digitalisation and innovation as the path forward for Malaysian SMEs. Industry leaders and government representatives shared insights to help businesses scale and thrive in a dynamic economy.

MALAYSIA, 7 MAY 2025 – The CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 opened its annual series with a vibrant launch event in Kuala Lumpur today, marking a major step toward accelerating digital transformation among Malaysia’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, the event attracted close to 1,000 participants, including policymakers, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders. The event aimed to equip SMEs with the tools, strategies, and insights needed to compete regionally and globally through digitalisation and innovation.

Organised by CTOS, Malaysia’s largest private credit reporting agency, through its CTOS for Business division, this third edition of SME Biz Day reinforced the company’s commitment to supporting business growth and resilience.

Minister Gobind highlighted the importance of aligning with the national digital vision:
“Digitalisation is key to competitiveness. Let’s build a future where Malaysian SMEs lead in the global digital space—but first, we must get the basics right,” he said during the opening ceremony.

Kevin Loh, Interim Group CEO of CTOS Digital Berhad, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Digital tools not only create seamless experiences but also unlock regional and global potential. By supporting SME digital transformation, we help strengthen Malaysia’s overall economy.”

Themed “Empowering SMEs through Digitalisation, Transformation & Innovation”, the event featured two high-impact panel discussions. The first, Scaling SMEs: Unlocking Growth in Capital, Finance, Digital & Global Expansion, saw experts from SME Corp, MATRADE, MDEC, and SAMENTA discuss strategies for accessing funding and expanding into new markets through tech adoption.

The second panel, Winning Through Agility, brought together successful entrepreneurs from brands like Mydin, BloomThis, ZUS Coffee, and Anjoe Raw Beaute. They shared personal journeys and lessons in building brands and growing through social media and e-commerce.

A key highlight of the day was a thought-provoking session with Khairy Jamaluddin and CTOS COO Lee Shin Mei. Khairy emphasised the need for agile, resilient leadership among SME owners, particularly during uncertain economic times.

The event also featured a showcase of business solutions from partners including LHDN, CIMB, Maybank Islamic, Salesforce, Samsung, Zoho, and others—offering attendees practical tools and resources to support their digital journey.

Following the success of the Kuala Lumpur kickoff, CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 will continue its roadshow in Penang (12 June), Johor (9 July), and Kuching (19 August). For more information, visit https://ctoscredit.com.my/business/ctos-sme-biz-day.
