Thu, July 25, 2013: Cisco, the worldwide leader in IT has announced that the company will acquire Sourcefire, a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions and the board of directors of each company has agreed the deal. According to the agreement, Cisco will pay US$76 (RM242.26) per share in cash in exchange for each share of Sourcefire and assume outstanding equity awards for an aggregate purchase price of approximately US$2.7 billion (RM8.6 billion), including retention-based incentives.
The acquisition will combine world-class products, technologies and research teams from Cisco and Sourcefire to provide continuous and pervasive advanced threat protection across the entire attack continuum – before, during and after an attack – and from any device to any cloud.
