THAILAND 18 February 2025 – Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd., a global leader in cybersecurity, today announced its strategic vision for securing the hyper-connected world at CPX 2025 Bangkok, its premier annual cybersecurity event. With nearly 1,650 attendees, including employees, customers, and partners from across Asia-Pacific (APAC), Check Point showcased its latest AI-driven security innovations and hybrid mesh security strategy to help organizations stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Surge in Cyber Threats: APAC Faces Escalating Attacks

With an increase in ransomware, hacktivism, and AI-driven cybercrime, APAC organizations faced an average of 2,915 cyberattacks per week over the last six months—significantly higher than the global average of 1,843 attacks per week, according to Check Point’s Threat Intelligence data.

Key Trends in APAC Cybersecurity:

  • 52% of malicious files were delivered via web-based attacks in the last 30 days, indicating a sharp rise in phishing scams.
  • Ransomware incidents in APAC accounted for 6.3% of all cyber incidents, compared to 4% globally.

Most Targeted Sectors in APAC:

  • Education & Research: 7,372 weekly attacks per organization (vs. 4,127 globally).
  • Healthcare: 5,225 weekly attacks per organization (vs. 2,441 globally).
  • Government/Military: 4,834 weekly attacks per organization (vs. 2,593 globally).
