CelcomDigi Empowers Over 1,500 SMEs Through MY5G Digital Workshop Series, Culminating in Kuching

CelcomDigi concluded its nationwide MY5G SME Digital Workshop 2025 in Kuching, marking the finale of a year-long initiative that empowered over 1,500 Malaysian SMEs with 5G-driven digital tools, funding insights, and business connections to scale their growth. The programme spotlighted Sarawak’s unique blend of heritage and innovation as a model for nationwide digital transformation.

MALAYSIA, 13 NOVEMBER 2025 – CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) has wrapped up its nationwide MY5G SME Digital Workshop 2025 series in Kuching, marking the conclusion of a year-long mission to accelerate digital adoption among Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Themed “Hornbill Rising: Sarawak SMEs Soaring with Digital,” the Kuching finale showcased how local entrepreneurs are merging Sarawak’s cultural heritage with technology to expand beyond borders. The workshop aimed to transform digital transformation from concept into action by equipping SMEs with hands-on skills, funding opportunities, and access to ecosystem partners.

A key highlight of the event was a fireside chat with Leaves Food Industries CEO Alan Chai Ming Lun, who shared how authenticity and digital tools helped turn local products into globally competitive brands. Financial partners including Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), SME Bank, CTOS, Funding Societies, and MoneyMatch offered insights on alternative financing and transparent data, making capital more accessible to SMEs.

The workshop also featured “Arena Usahawan,” a shark-tank-style pitching platform that connected entrepreneurs directly with financiers. The segment underscored how digital readiness — rather than company size — determines business growth potential in today’s economy.

Adding a creative touch, Sarawakian musician and digital entrepreneur Gideon Reed demonstrated how artistry, personal branding, and social media platforms can elevate local talents to global stages. Participants also explored live-streaming demonstrations on TikTok Shop, business-matching sessions, and interactive booths featuring AI-driven credit tools, analytics, and 5G-enabled business solutions from CelcomDigi Business.

CelcomDigi’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Ts. Afizulazha Abdullah, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to fostering digital inclusion. “Sarawak is home to some of Malaysia’s most enterprising SMEs. This workshop connected them with funding, digital platforms, and technology partners, enabling adoption of digital tools, access to funding, and new market opportunities. When SMEs grow, communities and economies benefit, and we remain committed to keeping Sarawak firmly in the digital value chain,” he said.

The MY5G SME Digital Workshop 2025 series toured key cities across Malaysia, including Kuala Terengganu, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching. In total, more than 1,500 SMEs nationwide were empowered to digitalise faster and smarter through CelcomDigi’s 5G-powered business solutions.

With the successful conclusion of the series, CelcomDigi plans to continue its support for Malaysian SMEs in the coming year. Entrepreneurs and business owners can explore future workshops, digital solutions, and partnership opportunities via the CelcomDigi Business website.
