MALAYSIA, 30 OCTOBER 2025 – CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) and Media Prima have achieved a significant milestone in their joint mission to combat online fraud, reaching more than 4 million Malaysians through the three-month ‘Kisah Benar: Scam Siber’ series on TV3’s long-running crime show, 999.
The 13-episode series dramatized real-life scam incidents—including love scams, fake job offers, phishing, deepfake fraud, and bogus investments—to help Malaysians understand the red flags and emotional impact of online deception. Each episode offered expert advice and safety tips to help viewers stay alert against the rapidly evolving scam landscape.
Beyond television, the campaign expanded online through short videos and full episodes available on Tonton, sparking nationwide discussions about safer digital habits. The initiative forms part of CelcomDigi’s broader commitment to fostering a trusted and secure digital environment for all Malaysians.
Over the past three years, CelcomDigi has introduced several initiatives to strengthen online safety awareness. These include interactive online games like “Can You Escape Online Scams?” created with Malaysiakini, an online story hub featuring real scam victims, and training workshops for educators, civil servants, students, and youth leaders. Influencers and content creators have also joined the movement to spread anti-scam messages across social media platforms.
CelcomDigi’s Head of Sustainability, Philip Ling, emphasized the importance of continuous education and collaboration. “Scams are evolving, and so must our approach to awareness. Through relatable storytelling and strong partnerships, we’re helping Malaysians stay informed and alert in their everyday digital lives,” he said.
