Majority of the Generation Y (aged from 18 to 28) or Gen Y in Singapore believe their country will become a cashless society in future, according to the evidences from VISA’s ‘Connecting with the Millennials’ survey in Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The survey revealed 74 per cent of Gen Y in Singapore said will make payments through their mobile phone and 79 per cent said will able to make all their purchases and bill payments online.
The findings of the survey reported that over the last six months, 64 per cent made direct online payment through a merchant website, 38 per cent made contactless payment with a card and 17 per cent made mobile bill payments, air-time top up and purchases through mobile app.
