MALAYSIA, 11 SEPTEMBER 2025 – Canon Marketing Malaysia has unveiled three powerful new imaging products designed to support filmmakers, content creators, and production crews in Malaysia. The launch includes the Canon EOS C50 Cinema EOS Camera, the CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo Lens, and the RF85mm f/1.4L VCM Hybrid Lens—each expanding Canon’s hybrid ecosystem and offering creators new possibilities for professional storytelling.
The EOS C50 Cinema EOS Camera is Canon’s most compact and versatile Cinema EOS hybrid camera to date, featuring a 7K full-frame CMOS sensor, DIGIC DV 7 processor, and support for 7K 60P RAW and 4K 120P recording. It also offers open gate recording for flexible reframing across multiple formats, making it suitable for both cinematic productions and social media content. A modular design with detachable handles and professional audio inputs ensures adaptability for diverse production environments.
Canon also introduced the CN5x11 IAS T R1/P1 Cine-Servo Lens, its widest-ever Cine-Servo model, offering an 11mm focal length and 100-degree angle of view. Despite its lightweight 3kg build, the lens delivers 8K HDR optical performance with an 11-blade iris and supports advanced metadata systems such as Cooke /i Technology™ and ZEISS eXtended Data™, making it ideal for cinema, broadcast, and virtual production.
The RF85mm f/1.4L VCM Hybrid Lens is the latest addition to Canon’s f/1.4 VCM hybrid prime series. With an 85mm focal length and a bright f/1.4 aperture, it is designed for portraits, close-ups, and intimate storytelling. Compact and lightweight at just 636g, the lens incorporates professional features such as clickless iris control, focus breathing suppression, weather sealing, and Canon’s Air Sphere Coating for superior image quality.
“These new launches reflect Canon’s commitment to empowering creators in Malaysia,” said Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia. “From cinematic filmmaking to hybrid storytelling, our goal is to provide tools that enable creators to push boundaries.”
