7 November 2024 – Broadcom Inc. continues to drive innovation in cloud technology, unveiling a series of advancements at VMware Explore 2024 Barcelona to support organizations aiming for digital sovereignty, cyber resilience, and AI integration. As part of its VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) offerings, Broadcom is rolling out expanded Advanced Services and new ecosystem partnerships to help customers modernize their infrastructures and adopt generative AI, all within a secure private cloud framework that balances cost-efficiency with flexibility.
Krish Prasad, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the VCF Division at Broadcom, emphasized VCF’s ability to support a resilient, ubiquitous cloud platform tailored to meet customers’ digital sovereignty and security requirements globally. Through its cloud foundation, Broadcom delivers a scalable, secure private cloud that organizations can deploy on-premises, within partner clouds, or at edge locations, backed by license portability and streamlined cloud operations.
The updates to VCF’s Advanced Services feature VMware Tanzu Data Services, a suite aimed at simplifying data management for AI applications. Additionally, Broadcom announced VMware Live Recovery’s expansion to support Google Cloud VMware Engine as a secure recovery environment, ensuring consistent cyber and disaster recovery options for VCF workloads. The vDefend Advanced Service has also been enhanced with GenAI-driven threat intelligence, offering security teams sophisticated analytics to proactively defend against cyber threats.
Highlighting its support for private AI, Broadcom now enables Microsoft’s Azure AI Video Indexer to run on VCF through Azure VMware Solution. This integration broadens Broadcom’s private AI capabilities, allowing businesses to run critical AI and video analytics on secure, flexible infrastructure. Broadcom is further advancing workforce skills by introducing the VMware Certified Professional – VCF Architect certification, designed to validate expertise in VCF design and deployment.
With a commitment to helping businesses transition seamlessly to private cloud, Broadcom’s expanded Private Cloud Modernization Program provides guidance, tools, and resources. The company has also broadened its sovereign cloud services, now offered through 50 VMware Cloud Service Providers (VCSPs) worldwide. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for data sovereignty, as VCF enables customers to meet compliance standards and maintain jurisdictional control over their data across varied geographies.
