Thu, May 2, 2013: ASOS.com, a global online fashion and beauty retailer will launch a Chinese language site in October this year. The new site is designed specifically for ASOS to penetrate into China’s booming e-commerce sector and it will spend between RM56 million (GBP 12 million) and RM86 million (GBP 18 million) over the next three years for the expansion including building a dedicated distribution hub in China, some online resources reported. Asos expected to have additional sales of RM4.74 billion (GBP1 billion) through the investment by 2015.
ASOS currently offers on over 50,000 branded and own label product lines across womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewellery and beauty with approximately 1,500 new product lines being introduced each week. ASOS attracts 16.6 million unique visitors a month and as at 30 June 2012 had 8.7 million registered users and 4.7 million active customers from 160 countries.
