Black Duck Software, Inc., formerly known as Synopsys Software Integrity Group, has rebranded and become an independent application security company. The company continues to offer a comprehensive portfolio of solutions aimed at helping organizations manage security, quality, and compliance risks in software development.


3 October 2024 – Black Duck® Software, Inc. has officially rebranded from the former Synopsys Software Integrity Group, marking its new status as an independent application security company. The new identity reflects the company’s flagship offering, Black Duck software composition analysis (SCA), a trusted solution that has enabled thousands of organizations globally to safely implement open source technology for nearly two decades.

Now operating independently, Black Duck continues to offer the full range of application security products that were previously part of the Synopsys portfolio. Its mission remains clear: to assist organizations in building trust in their software by managing security, quality, and compliance risks at a pace that matches business demands. Black Duck aims to empower its customers to embrace emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), to drive innovation and transformation.
