22 January 2024 – In response to circulating claims and misrepresentations, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has issued a statement clarifying the status of Quantum Metal Sdn. Bhd. (QMSB), emphasizing that although QMSB is a reporting institution under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, its products and activities are not approved or licensed by BNM. The central bank also dispelled social media claims regarding the verification and approval of incoming transactions and warned against the misuse of BNM’s name in determining the legitimacy of business activities.
