Ba0Ba0 and OceanBase Partner to Deliver Cost-Efficient AI Automation Across ASEAN

Singapore-based AI firm Ba0Ba0 has partnered with OceanBase to co-develop AI automation solutions combining local LLM technology with advanced database capabilities. The collaboration targets enterprises in banking, healthcare, retail, and other sectors to accelerate digital transformation without token or licensing costs.

SINGAPORE, 15 AUGUST 2025 – Ba0Ba0, a Singapore-based AI company offering a zero token, zero licensing cost model with a CPU-first local large language model (LLM) architecture, has announced a strategic partnership with OceanBase to expand AI automation solutions across Singapore and ASEAN markets.

The collaboration integrates Ba0Ba0’s affordable, locally deployable AI with OceanBase’s AI-ready, multi-cloud distributed database technology to deliver secure, high-performance enterprise deployments free from usage-based fees. This approach aims to lower the barriers to AI adoption while enhancing efficiency, reliability, and scalability for industries including banking, healthcare, and retail.

OceanBase’s database incorporates built-in vector capabilities, enabling AI development directly within SQL. The platform unifies OLTP, OLAP, and AI workloads, streamlining hybrid data searches and supporting modern applications such as intelligent recommendations, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) conversational systems, and enterprise AI agents.

These capabilities have been successfully applied by customers worldwide. Trip.com Group developed a hotel image retrieval system using OceanBase, while logistics firm Lalamove implemented solutions such as loss-prevention code recognition and AI-driven data warehouse assistants.

Ba0Ba0, which has roots in charitable initiatives and remains privately owned, prioritizes accessible AI solutions that ensure data sovereignty and eliminate financial lock-in. Its CPU-first LLM is locally deployable, making it suitable for organizations with strict compliance or budgetary requirements. Notably, Ba0Ba0’s LLM will be deployed aboard a space cubesat satellite this December as part of the Tristar mission in collaboration with the Russian space agency.

Operating in more than 170 availability zones across 50 geographic regions on major global cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and Tencent Cloud, OceanBase supports over 2,000 customers worldwide in modernizing database systems. The partnership with Ba0Ba0 underscores its focus on advancing data and AI capabilities to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving market.
