Appian has rolled out platform enhancements including semantic smart search, automatic data fabric scaling, and AI availability for self-managed and FedRAMP environments, helping organisations gain insights faster, improve scalability, and strengthen AI security.
AUSTRALIA, 20 AUGUST 2025 – Appian, a leading provider of AI-driven process automation, has announced major updates designed to help enterprises operate more efficiently and securely. The latest release introduces semantic smart search, full AI availability for self-managed and FedRAMP environments, autoscaling data fabric, and new Process HQ reporting capabilities.
Appian’s enhanced smart search uses semantic understanding to return results based on user intent rather than simple keyword matching. By leveraging millions of connected data records and documents via Appian’s data fabric, the tool delivers more accurate query results, improves related case matching, and enables more intelligent agent actions.
All Appian AI features are now available in self-managed and FedRAMP environments, extending secure, enterprise-grade AI to government and regulated sector customers. “This release makes it easier for all organisations, including our government customers, to securely leverage enterprise-grade AI,” said Michael Beckley, CTO at Appian. “We’re delivering AI with guardrails and transparency, without compromising on security or control.”
To support enterprise growth, Appian has added autoscaling to its data fabric, allowing high-throughput workloads to scale automatically without manual intervention. New asynchronous interface loading further improves application responsiveness by loading complex data in the background.
Process HQ now allows reports and dashboards to be embedded directly into Appian Sites, enabling organisations to share insights seamlessly. Configurable drilldown reports also provide users with deeper visibility into enterprise data with a single click.
Sheila Evans, Chief Product and Solutions Officer at MagMutual, said these improvements are already streamlining operations: “We’ve improved our quoting, claims, and underwriting processes through AI-powered process optimisation. Using Process HQ to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement, powered by Appian’s generative AI capabilities, I see tremendous opportunity to help us continue delivering on our strategic plans.”
With these enhancements, Appian continues its focus on integrating AI into business processes with governance, accountability, and measurable value delivery.
