Tue, May 13, 2013: Amazon yesterday launched Amazon Coins, giving a new way of purchasing apps, games and in-app items in the Amazon Appstore and on Kindle Fire. In conjunction with the launch, Amazon is giving 500 free Amazon Coins worth US$5 to existing and new Kindle Fire customers in the U.S. which will be deposited automatically into their Amazon accounts.
