Mon, May 13, 2013: Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group stepped down as CEO of the group officially last Friday during Taobao’s 10th anniversary celebration party at Yellow Dragon Stadium in Hangzhou, China.
Ma was the closing speaker at the event attended by more than 20,000 Alibaba Group employees and urged the crowd to trust new CEO Jonathan Lu as they trusted him. After May 10, Ma remains as Alibaba Group’s executive chairman and will focus in setting strategic direction, helping to develop managerial talent within the company’s ranks, and strengthening Alibaba’s contributions to society.
