AgiBot and its Malaysian partner Mr. Robot showcased the intelligent humanoid robot AgiBot X2 at the 8th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS 2025), where Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg personally interacted with the robot, highlighting Malaysia’s growing enthusiasm for AI and robotics innovation.
MALAYSIA, 27 OCTOBER 2025 – The 8th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2025 (IDECS25) officially opened on October 22, 2025, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, bringing together more than 10,000 participants to explore the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability. Organized by the Sarawak Government and co-hosted by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), and Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. (SAINS), the event served as a premier platform for showcasing cutting-edge digital technologies and global innovation.
Among the standout exhibitors was AgiBot, together with its Malaysian strategic partner Mr. Robot, presenting its flagship creation—the all-intelligence lively humanoid robot, AgiBot X2. The robot drew widespread attention throughout the event for its lifelike expressions, engaging gestures, and interactive capabilities.
The See Hua Daily News reported a special moment during the exhibition when Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg visited the AgiBot booth and enthusiastically interacted with AgiBot X2. The Premier shook hands with the robot, exchanged verbal greetings, and even received a heart gesture from the humanoid—an interaction that symbolized Malaysia’s strong recognition and optimism toward embodied AI technology.
AgiBot X2, equipped with over 30 expressive gestures, can engage in natural conversations, perform various movements, and even entertain audiences through dancing and parkour demonstrations. Supporting multilingual communication, the robot has proven its versatility across diverse use cases, from education and retail to live performances. During IDECS25, AgiBot X2 became the “star attraction,” drawing crowds eager to watch, take photos, and interact with the charming humanoid.
This appearance follows AgiBot’s earlier participation in the “Virtual Island of Penang” (VIP) smart city launch ceremony, where Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow humorously interacted with AgiBot X2 at Penang City Hall. The event marked Malaysia’s first smart city application initiative led by the Penang Island City Council, underscoring the country’s rapid progress in AI adoption and smart urban development.

With its growing presence across Malaysia, AgiBot continues to redefine the future of intelligent robotics, combining advanced AI capabilities with human-like interactivity to inspire innovation in digital economies across the region.
