In Facebook’s filing for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (“10-Q Filing”), it revealed that 8.7 per cent of 83 million accounts on its social networking platform are fake. According to Facebook, the fake accounts have been categorized as duplication accounts (4.8 per cent), misclassified accounts (2.4 per cent) and undesirable accounts (1.5 per cent).
