SECTA5 Unveils Cartographer: AI-Powered Platform Revolutionizing Cybersecurity Threat Analysis and Response

SECTA5, a Singapore-based deep tech start-up, launches Cartographer, an AI-powered platform revolutionizing cybersecurity threat analysis and response. Cartographer enables companies to accelerate cyber risk triage, prioritize cybersecurity efforts, and mitigate threats effectively, ultimately strengthening cybersecurity defenses and optimizing resource allocation.

3 April 2024 – Singapore-based deep tech start-up SECTA5 has unveiled its groundbreaking product, Cartographer, a cutting-edge platform driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) designed to streamline cybersecurity threat analysis, prioritization, and response, all within a single integrated platform.

Unlike traditional manual methods of cyber risk management, where teams sift through vast amounts of disclosed vulnerabilities manually, Cartographer can achieve this process at double the speed and with greater accuracy. This innovative solution is poised to assist companies, increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks, in prioritizing their cybersecurity efforts and resources, ultimately saving time and money while reducing the risk to business operations and information systems.

The surge in disclosed vulnerabilities in recent years, as reported by American enterprise cyber risk & security platform Qualys, highlights the pressing need for more effective cybersecurity solutions. To address this challenge, SECTA5 was founded by two alumni from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), and their partners, leveraging their expertise in ethical hacking, including red teaming and attack simulations against large organizations.

With support from NTUitive, the innovation and enterprise company of NTU Singapore, SECTA5 successfully automated the cyber risk analysis and prioritization processes using Machine Learning and Generative AI, conducting successful real-life trials. Clients who trialed Cartographer experienced accelerated cyber risk triage while implementing continuous threat and exposure management (CTEM), integrating business context, threat intelligence, automation, and prioritization into a cohesive system.

Mr. Sky Seah, Co-founder of SECTA5, emphasized that Cartographer provides organizations with a powerful and user-friendly tool to navigate the complexities of modern cybersecurity challenges, particularly for Chief Information Officers and Chief Information Security Officers who must make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The Cartographer platform enables organizations to swiftly identify critical cyber risks and prioritize remediation efforts accordingly. Mr. Seah likened it to proactively reinforcing the defenses of a castle, stating that by centralizing vulnerability management processes around Cartographer, businesses can autonomously enhance their cybersecurity defenses, strengthen their overall infrastructure, and prepare countermeasures before a breach occurs.

Key features of Cartographer VM include the curation of vulnerability pipelines, auto-triage with context, enrichment with threat intelligence, and prioritization at scale. These features empower security professionals to prioritize higher-value strategic work and optimize limited resources effectively.

SECTA5’s mission with Cartographer is to make exposure and risk-based vulnerability management smarter and more effective. By automating triage with a precise understanding of each organization’s environment, unique risk profile, and real-life threat intelligence, Cartographer aims to help IT teams focus on the cyber risks that truly matter and mitigate them faster and more effectively.
