ZALORA Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Oct 16, 2013 (Wed): ZALORA Malaysia is proud to present the third online Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called “Think Pink! Be Part of the Cure” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month along with BCWA (Breast Cancer Welfare Association, Malaysia) in the month of October 2013. BCWA is an independent tax-exempt voluntary organization that aims to utilize efforts, expertise and financial aid from various circles in society, to fight cancer and reduce the related pain, suffering and morbidity that cancer patients and families often experience.

Last July/August 2012, with the incredible support and generosity of its customers, ZALORA Malaysia successfully raised over RM10,000 in cash and clothing donations through ZALORA Malaysia’s first CSR initiative for OrphanCARE Malaysia, a non-profit and non-governmental organization which aims to give every orphan and abandoned baby the love, care and security of a family.

Last October 2012, ZALORA Malaysia ran its second initiative by supporting MAKNA, a non-profit breast cancer organization in the efforts to provide research, preventive and support services to cancer patients and their families, high-risk groups and educate the general public and increase breast cancer awareness in Malaysia. With the incredible support and generosity of its customers, the charity drive has successfully raised RM5,000 in cash donations. The campaign was supported and gained contribution from Malaysia celebrities such as Aznil Hj. Nawawi, Serena C, Dennis Lau, Vanessa Chong, Pamela Chong and Ami Schaheera – one of the breast cancer HEROES.

This October 2013, ZALORA collaborates with Breast Cancer Welfare Association, Malaysia (BCWA) in order to raise funds to assist the organization to increase awareness among the public regarding the early detection of breast cancer.

“The objective of the campaign is to prove that Zalora is not just an international Fashion Retailer, it is a Malaysian company that cares and support Malaysian women in every way that it can” said Giulio Xiloyannis, Buying and Marketing director of ZALORA said Giulio Xiloyannis, Buying and Marketing director of ZALORA. “This shows our constant support for those who are fighting cancer and we hope that this campaign will increase awareness among our customers thus providing additional community support,” added Giulio.

Starting from October 16th to 23th, for every purchase at ZALORA using the code “PINK15”, 15% of the revenues will be donated for charity. Apart from fund raising, ZALORA will also be offering a stylish makeover and photoshoot session for 3 specially picked BCWA’s breast cancer patients during the month.
