Voopee-XOX offers online top up its airtime
KUALA LUMPUR: Voopee-XOX is the latest Android app by XOX Berhad that allows free calls and SMS to other users of the app, leveraging on the Internet connectivity of 3G, EDGE or Wi-Fi. This SIM-free service also allows users to connect with their friends outside the XOX network at a rate of 22 cent per minute and 10 cent per SMS. The users just need go to www.voopee.com to top up its airtime credits easily using online payment or simply walk into a 7-Eleven outlets to buy its airtime.
XOX Berhad Group Managing Director Ng Kok Heng explained that Voopee-XOX started on the Android platform first instead of iOS because Nielsen 2012 Smartphone Insights study revealed 42 per cents of the online respondents prefers Android platform. There were 35,000 mobile users in 23 countries participated in this recent survey. Voopee-XOX also allocates a unique mobile number to its users upon signing up, either come with 0111 or 0112 prefix, Ng added.
“We hope to get a million users by year end and targeting to roll this app to other platform such as iOS, Blackberry and Windows Mobile by end of 2012”, said Ng. XOX Berhad also has plans to launch Voopee-XOX in other countries soon, beginning with Singapore and the Philippines, he added.
