Visa: American Consumers Like To Share Sensitive Personal Info on Social Networks

Oct 6, 2013 (Sun): In cooperation with Gfk Roper’s Omnibus Service OmniTel, Visa recently conducted Visa Security 2013 Social Media Sharing Survey among 1,000 respondents on 16-18 August 2013. The survey found more than 58 pe rcent of consumers surveyed admitted to sharing personal details including social security number, payment card information, banking information, mother maiden name, etc. over social media that could put them at risk for fraud and identity theft. This will put them into the risk which giving can give criminals enough clues to answer security questions and break into their financial or online accounts.
