Vietnam e-commerce is expected to grow at an average 75 per cent per annum

According to PwC Vietnam research, Vietnam’s e-commerce market value was approximately of US$300 million in 2011 and is expected to reach US$2.8 billion by 2015. The expansion of broadband service, the growth of internet users and the growth average disposable income will contribute to the growth of e-commerce in Vietnam.

The internet users are projected to grow from 30 million users in 2011 to 37 million users in 2015. Cimigo’s recent study reveals that time spent on internet tripled from 43 to 130 minutes per day between 2008 and 2011.

PwC Vietnam also said the most popular e-commerce model in Vietnam is online marketplace but the popularity of online payment in the country is limited and the cash on delivery still is the preferred payment method among the online purchases.

Vatgia.com, Enbac.vn, 5giay.vn, chodientu.vn, Solo.vn, Yes24.vn, zalada.vn, Thegioididog.com, dienmay.com and nguyenkim.com are some of the popular e-commerce websites in Vietnam named by PwC Vietnam.
