VECOM runs e-commerce workshop for Vietnamese businesses

In collaboration with the Department for E-Commerce and Information Technology under the Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) organized an e-commerce workshop on 16 November 2012 in Hanoi, helping local businesses to enhance their competitiveness with the rapid development of new business patterns.

During the workshop, the development trend of e-commerce, the new trend in online marketing, the introduction of cloud computing, the rapid development of mobile internet devices, secured online payment were some of the key topics presented to the participants.

According to a survey conducted in Vietnam, most of the businesses in the country found using email to promote company and exchange business information. The survey revealed that over 40 per cent of businesses surveyed have website but only 12 per cent of them are participating in e-commerce.
