TAIPEI: The recent survey conducted by the Cabinet’s Research, Development and Evaluation Commission reveals 62.7 per cent of Internet users in Taiwan buy online and they spend at an average TWD16,586 (RM1,716.62) per person annually for online purchases last year, the Central News Agency reported.
Majority of the online shoppers (over 70%) are in the 20-39 age group. The survey found 74.5 per cent of the respondents are good at using the Internet for searching product information and comparing prices before any purchases. Internet users in Hualien, Taitung County, Kinmen County and Leinchiang County are more likely to purchase online compared with other county, the survey found.
