Malaysia (Jul 10, 2013): According to a recent study conducted by Siemer & Associates, the global e-commerce sales are expected to grow by 17.5 per cent to US$963 billion (RM3,069.75 billion) this year with mobile commerce being the fastest growing channel.
The global e-commerce will continue grow by 14.7% annually until 2016 with the US, UK and Japan leading the way while mobile commerce will be account for 56.2 per cent of all online sales, compared only 20.9 per cent in 2012.
Siemer & Associates also says the online sales only account for around 6.5 per cent of global retail sales but it is growing four times faster than traditional retail. In 2016, the online sales is forecasted account for 9.3 per cent of global retail sales.
