U.K. (Jul 10, 2013): Referring to “Future App Stores: Discovery, Monetisation & Ecosystem Analysis 2013 – 2018”, Juniper Research forecasts over 160 billion apps will be downloaded into smartphones and tablets in 2017, increased from 80 billion apps in 2013. However, only 5 per cent of apps will be paid for at the point of download in 2017, down from 6.1 per cent this year. The report also shows almost half of the apps downloaded (40%) are from games category.
