Thu, May 23, 2013: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) and Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) are partnering to issue co-branded debit card – Bank Islam Visa Debit-I Team Harimau dedicated for fans of Malaysia’s Harimau football team. The card was launched on Monday by FAM’s President, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah at Wisma FAM.
With the co-branded card, the card holders can enjoy exclusive benefits such as 20 per cent discount for purchases of sport items at all 121 Al-Ikhsan outlets nationwide, stand a chance to participate in various campaigns to win attractive prizes such as Harimau Malaya limited-edition jersey, match soccer ball, national players’ autograph. The card also facilitates online payments for bills, petrol purchases, Pilgrimage Fund Board’s (Tabung Haji) transactions or ticket bookings.
Bank Islam aims the new card can bring in additional 300,000 card members in the next 12 months and projected its debit card retail spending to rise by about 40 per cent this year to reach RM350 million spurred by new products, increasing promotions and customer awareness on its
