Maxis and Spotify Team Up To Bring The World of Music Through The Internet

Oct 30, 2013 (Wed): Maxis Berhad (Maxis) has announced its exclusive partnership with Spotify, allowing its prepaid and postpaid customers can access to the Spotify Premium service at RM10 a month.

Under the partnership, Maxis customers can access Spotify’s massive catalogue of over 20 million tracks – available both online and offline, along with 150MB of Internet data.

“Our partnership with Spotify is a perfect fit as it will set the bar for a new era of music in Malaysia. With smartphone penetration continuing to expand in the country, we are also seeing a surge in demand for music access on mobile devices. What’s bringing this partnership together is the fact that our customers can take full advantage of our fastest and widest network in the country. Our LTE customers, in particular, enjoy a greater Spotify experience, as they get to ride on speeds that are generally five to 10 times faster than 3G, which means an even more seamless Internet experience with greater download speeds. This adds a whole new dimension to their lifestyles, enhancing their overall experience in consuming music digitally,” said T Kugan, Head of Digital Services of Maxis.

“Spotify offers you the ultimate music experience on your mobile,” says Sunita Kaur, Director for Asia at Spotify. “Choose from millions of songs, from the very latest hits to the classics, all available in fantastic sound quality, instantly. What’s more, you can download your music and listen to it offline so you’re never without your favourite tunes.”

“Together with Maxis, we’re delighted to bring Malaysian music fans a fantastic new way to listen to music – one that ensures you’ll always have the right music for every moment.”
