Oct 30, 2013 (Wed): MasterCard and NTT DOCOMO, Inc. have announced the upcoming commercial launch of iD/PayPass-branded payments via DOCOMO’s iD mobile credit payment system. The partnership will open up some 1.2 million MasterCard PayPass acceptance locations in over 50 countries to iD users beginning February 5, 2014.
The iD/PayPass payment feature uses MasterCard’s PayPass technology, enables DOCOMO subscribers can make payment at MasterCard PayPass affiliate merchants by simply tapping their smartphone (with wallet function) over a reader device via near field communication (NFC).
