M1 also joins NFC payment battlefield in Singapore
The leading full-service provider of mobile and fixed communications services in Singapore, M1 Limited (M1) also partnering with MasterCard and EZ-link to offer Near Field Communications (NFC) services in the country. The NFC services offered by M1 are NFC Prepaid MasterCard and EZ-link CEPAS.
Currently, M1 NFC services are available at all M1 shops for purchase and activation since last month. With M1 NFC services together with an NFC SIM and NFC-certified handset, customers will be able to make contactless payments nationwide at the participating merchants.
A range of NFC-certified handsets including the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S Advance and the Sony Xperia S, will be available for customers to choose from., in collaboration with MasterCard and EZ-link. Both NFC services will be made available at all M1 shops beginning today.
Including M1, total of three Telco in Singapore are offering NFC payment services. The other two Telco are SingTel and StarHub.
