Lacking of transparency causes card payments stopped in Vatican

Deutsche Bank Italia which handles bank card payments on Vatican territory was ordered to suspend all bank card payments there by the Bank of Italy on Jan 1, 2013. The suspension was due to a failure to fully implement anti money laundering legislation, according to AFP.

All the retailers in Vatican are affected including the Vatican museum, pharmacy, post office and few ships that operate in the world’s tiniest state.
